I was going to attempt growing cabbage this year for the first time.  I read some info that suggested you can grow one crop in the Sring and one in the fall.  Apparently, the cabbage won't make it through the warm summer months?  I noticed a garden last year (just driving by) in late October and they had several nice heads of cabbage.  I'm trying to figure out how he got these large heads of cabbage if he didn't plant them earlier in the year vs early fall?  It would appear these grew over the hot summer months?

Does anybody have any advise on growing cabbages in Western PA.  I believe we are on the edge of
5A/5B in this area.

Thanks
Bernie

Read books about growing cabbage and what season it's good to plant. Or you can make a research for convinces.
